Doha!: Diary of a Delhi-O-Holic by Anam Arsalan
BOOK REVIEW
My take on Doha!: Diary of a Delhi-O-Holic
The memoir, Doha! Diary of a Delhi-O-holic reflects the journey of the author, his venture in the Middle East, fondness for sports, quest for love and the highs and lows of the life of an expat.
What I loved about the book is how the author reflects in an honest way how an expat tagged as an 'NRI' or 'PIO' is looked upon as a money minting human with a luxurious lifestyle. The truth is mirrored as to how one engages into a potpourri of cultures, lifestyles and tries to blend into a complete new self.
Certain areas of the book seemed cliché. Neverethless, the attempt to bring out the reality of living in a new country, trying to establish oneself was brilliant.
I would rate this book 4.5.
A must read for sure. To experience a country through the eyes of an expat who has lived through it is always a treat.
